We are welcoming two poets to Scuppernong tonight!

Nicole Stockburger is the author of Nowhere Beulah, winner of the Unicorn Press First Book Competition (forthcoming November 15, 2019), selected by Dan Albergotti. Her poems appear or are forthcoming in The Kenyon Review, The Southern Review, The Journal, Indiana Review, Frontier Poetry, New South, and Michigan Quarterly Review, among others. Receiving an MFA in Creative Writing from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a BA in Studio Art and English from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Nicole lives and works on a stretch of land in the North Carolina foothills, splitting her time co-running York Farm with her partner, Kyle Montgomery, and as a freelance copywriter.

Julie Swarstad Johnson is a poet and writer who lives in Tucson, Arizona. Her first full-length book of poetry, Pennsylvania Furnace, will be published by Unicorn Press in 2019. She is the author of a poetry chapbook, Jumping the Pit (Finishing Line Press, 2015). She has been the recipient of a grant from the Arizona Commission on the Arts and has served as Artist in Residence at Gettysburg National Military Park. She works at the University of Arizona Poetry Center, home to a world-class library collection of contemporary poetry.
