North Carolina Literary Review Reading

Join us tonight as we celebrate the poets who have been featured in the North Carolina Literary Review. Amber Flora Thomas, Valerie Nieman, Miriam Herin, Jon Obermeyer, Wayne Johns and Catherine Carter will give a reading.

Amber Flora Thomas is the author of The Rabbits Could Sing: Poems (University of Alaska Press, 2012) and Eye of Water: Poems (University of Pittsburgh Press, 2005), winner of the 2004 Cave Canem Poetry Prize, chosen by Harryette Mullen. Her third poetry collection is Red Channel in the Rupture (Red Hen Press, 2018). She lives in Washington, North Carolina.

Catherine Carter is the author of three poetry collections; The Memory of Gills (2006), The Swamp Monster at Home (2012), and Marks of the Witch (2015). Her work has appeared in Poetry, Best American Poetry 2009, Orion, Ploughshares, and elsewhere. She is native to the Eastern Shore of Maryland and now directs the English Education program at Western Carolina University.
