This evening we will have two poets with us! Come join us to hear Sarah Rose Nordgren and Jenny George talk about their poetry!

Sarah Rose Nordgren is a poet, teacher, and multiform text artist. Her two books of poetry are Best Bones (2014)winner of the Agnes Lynch Starrett Poetry Prize, and Darwin’s Mother, which is recently released from University of Pittsburgh Press (November 2017). Her poems and essays appear widely in periodicals such as Agni, Ploughshares, The Kenyon Review Online, Copper Nickel, and American Poetry Review. Originally from North Carolina, Nordgren earned her BA from Sarah Lawrence College and her MFA in poetry from University of North Carolina Greensboro. She’s currently at the University of Cincinnati where she is a doctoral candidate in poetry with a certificate in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies.  Nordgren serves as an Associate Editor at 32 Poems.

Jenny George earned her BA in human ecology and an MFA from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. She is the author of The Dream of Reason (Copper Canyon, 2018), and her poems have appeared in FIELDPloughshares, and Crab Orchard Review, among other journals. Winner of the 2015 Discovery / Boston Review Poetry Prize, George has received fellowships from the Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Fund, the MacDowell Colony, the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference, and Yaddo. She lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where she serves as program coordinator for Hidden Leaf Foundation, a Buddhist-based social justice organization.
